The Lifetime movie “From Straight As to XXX” aired Saturday, and pretty much no one cared. It was based on the real life story of Miriam Weeks, porn star “Belle Knox,” who is a Duke University student and gained 20-minutes of fame for turning to porn to pay her tuition. Most people have forgotten about Belle. She was not a big porn star, and so after the story of her Blue Devil background broke, she returned to relative obscurity and retired from porn. General Hospital actress Haley Pullos stars as Weeks in the movie, and that’s probably its only redeeming value to anyone. When Haley was asked why anyone would care to watch the movie, she said, “This movie is so important because it shows you the depth and the hardship of being hated simply for making a decision for your own life, and I think everybody needs to understand that that is the message. [What she did] was legal. It was fully legal. It’s not like she did anything legally wrong. You might have different morals, and that’s okay, that’s your own decision with your own life, but this woman made a legal decision with her own life. That’s her choice and she shouldn’t have been harassed the way that she was, and that’s why I think it’s important.” In a separate interview, she said about why she decided to play the role, “I’m a huge feminist and so I’m all about women empowerment and being able to make your own choices and that’s what I feel like this whole movie focuses on. Miriam was just terrorized and abused by everybody for making her own choice and I wanted to be able to tell that story because it’s so heavy and important.” Well, we pay moderate tribute to Miriam empowering herself.

THE AVERAGE PERSON WILL HAVE SEX ABOUT 5,800 TIMES BEFORE THEY DIE, ARE YOU AVERAGE OR A SUPER (MAN)WHORE?
If you are keeping notches on your belt or bedpost, you’ll like have chipped that belt or bedpost to shit before you kick the bucket. A recent survey by cash back site Quidco says the average person (in Britain) will have sex a total of 5,778 times before they die, assuming you live to 83, which is a big assumption for some people. We assume the numbers are about the same in the United States. So we’ll take it as the average for everyone for our purposes. Now assuming you were sexually active starting at 18, another big assumption for some people, who were very early or very late getting into the game, that means on average you’ll have sex 88 times a year, or about 2 times per week. We are assuming that the “study” only considered vaginal sex to be “sex,” so you might get a fair amount of oral or anal on the side in addition to “sex.” And that doesn’t count handjobs or masturbation. We weren’t told how this plays out over time, but usually most people are having more sex when they are younger than when they are full-on geriatric. So 2 times a week seems about right on average for most people. The study also said, if you care, on average, people will fall in love 6.5 times and have 8 romantic partners, during their lives. On the flip side, the average person will get dumped 5.5 times and have 6 unrequited loves. To put that all into perspective, the average person will also sleep for 181,770 hours (20.8 years), take 2,689 selfies and spend 52,502 hours (6 years) on social media before dying. So sex is really only a small part of most people’s lives, unfortunately.

A Lifetime biopic about Anna Nicole Smith is sure to be worthless. The best parts of her life were X rated, and Lifetime just isn’t an X rated channel. Agnes Bruckner looks perfect for the part, and no doubt she does a great job with a limited script. The fault lies with Lifetime. If you want to see the trailer for the upcoming June 29 biopic, you can click here. Better than that (and likely better than the biopic) are the actresses who didn’t get the part. Here some pretty funny screen tests.
